Pages & Pictures
Altrusa of Rogers hosts its annual Pages and Pictures event in June. Partnered with the Rogers Public Library's Summer Reading Club Kick-Off, this event strives to inspire young people with the joy of reading and an appreciation of the arts. Families are invited to attend an afternoon where free fun reading and arts activities are hosted by community organizations. Altrusa gives children a tote bag with a new book for registering to participate in Rogers Public Library's Summer Reading Club. The Reading Station is a place where children choose a gently used book to begin reading and take home with them. The Pages & Pictures project received second place in the 2011 Altrusa District Eight Letha H. Brown Literacy Award.
