Our Services

Altrusa of Rogers is proud to offer the programs below:

Dental Program

The dental program was established in 1954 to serve children in the Rogers School District. Funding came from the Community Chest and donations.

As the area has grown, so has the dental program. Now an agency of United Way of Benton County, the program provides $20,000 in dental care annually to children in need. Additional funding comes from our annual lasagna dinner and donations.

Children eligible for the program must live in the Rogers School District and meet financial guidelines similar to the free lunch program. Dental Committee members will work to get a child dental care through Medicaid or ArKids First if they qualify.

The dental program's first goal is to get children out of pain and then assess additional dental needs. Altrusa does not pay for orthodontics, cosmetic procedures or prescriptions.

Several local dentists participate in our program, many offering a discount for their services.

Applications for care through the program are available from Rogers School District school nurses.

Literacy Program

Literacy is Altrusa International's major service project. Literacy, however, is defined as more than just being able to read.

Rogers Altrusa provides books each Christmas for children who attend Central Child Care Center. Additionally, Altrusans are available to assist in schools in a variety of volunteer roles.

The Rogers Altrusans offer support to the Rogers Public Library and their continuing expansion efforts.

We have received grants from Clorox and others using the grant money to provide books to Oakdale Junior High School and Rogers High School to support their innovative reading programs.
